CLARITY OF PURPOSE

Let me share this quote from Napoleon Hill which states that: There is one quality that one must possess to win, and that is definiteness of purpose, the knowledge of what one wants, and a burning desire to possess it.

So I begin with the following questions:

1.    What do you want to achieve in Life?

2.    Are you certain of your life’s purpose?

3.    Do you have a desire to fulfill your purpose?

One of the reasons why it is very imperative for you to be clear about your purpose is so you don’t go living someone’s life and fulfilling someone’s dreams and remaining unfulfilled in life.

Have you ever woken up and felt that your life is incomplete or unfulfilled, and that you need to do more to feel accomplished.

If you have ever felt that way, then you need to ask yourself the following questions:

1.    What is your definition of Success?

2.    What are your values?

3.    Does your definition of success key into your values?

If your definition of success is to teach others, then your values will include commitment on the job, integrity and the ability to speak with good purpose to your students at all times.

Several years ago, I stumbled on a quote from Zig Ziglar that says: “You will get to where you are going to in life; if you help others get to where they are going to in Life.”

That quote changed my perspective in life and I have become wired to teach and help people to get to their destination in life.



I have done this in many capacities numbering from being a school teacher, computer instructor, IT consultant and problem solver.

So my question to you is: What do you do to help others get to where they are going to in life?  That’s your purpose.

If you can answer that question, then you know your purpose.

Then you can move on to the next task which is: Identifying the values that you need to hold dear to your heart as you fulfill your life’s purpose.

Finally, you need to keep a scoreboard which helps you to keep track of your daily, weekly, monthly and yearly goals as you make a success in fulfilling your purpose.



I wish to say that is what every successful person on earth has done; they have simplified their life by having a purpose, surrounded their purpose with the right values and have gone on to activate their success in life.


So do you want to be successful in the years to come, begin by clearly defining your purpose.
