MASTERING YOURSELF
MASTERING
YOURSELF
Lao Tzu said
and I quote: “Mastering others is strength but mastering yourself is true
power.”
If you plan
to get more powerful in this New Year, then please stop and read this piece.
Rule 1: Meditate Every Morning and
Night.
Plan to
meditate for 30 minutes to one hour every morning and evening. While you are at
it, keep a notepad and write down any thoughts that come to your mind.
Someday in
the future, I know you will thank me for this.
Rule 2: Tell yourself that you are the
Captain of Your Life.
After
meditating and before leaving home, remind yourself that you are in charge of
your life and that no one can make you feel lesser than yourself.
The reason is
this: life is tough, only those that are mentally tough will survive. Imagine
that you are a cell tower and you are receiving signals, my advice is: choose
to receive positive signals, so that you can soar higher every day.
Rule 3: Write down what you really,
really want to achieve.
You want to
be very powerful, then know what you really, really want from life.
In fact subject
what you want to achieve the 5 whys as proposed by Sakichi Toyoda.
Ask yourself
why you are doing this and get 5 responses from yourself before you proceed.
The message
is this: Better to be a meaningful specific, than a wandering generality.
The
only reason why men fail is broken focus or the will to do so many things, yet
achieve nothing.
Rule 4: Set goals
I like to
share a quote from Brian Tracy that said: “Every minute you spend in planning
saves 10 minutes in execution; this gives you a 1,000 percent Return on
Energy!”
Imagine that
for every goal you set and deliberately work on, you gain time, you move with
so much energy and you accomplish more.
Rule 5: Know Yourself
Knowing
yourself prepares you for a life of fulfillment, because I believe the most
important thing in gift in life is for you to be happy.
In order to know yourself,
I suggest that you understand your personality, know your values, dreams and
goals in life.
One way to
understand your personality is to undertake the human metrics personality test
developed by Carl Jung and Myers Briggs.
Kindly try a
free assessment using this link: http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/jtypes2.asp
Rule 6: Put Rule 1 to 5 together and
go out there with a winners Mindset
After taking
the personality test and knowing your true self, you will be inspired to really
sit down and set the right goals and plans, which would have passed through a
pre-meditated quiet time and in a very positive environment.
Now that you are now a master of
yourself, Go out there and WIN BIG.
P.S: I
believe that in approximately 365 days from today, you would look back and be
glad you took some time off your busy schedule to master yourself.
